A
Cultural Musical Evening |
|
The Saudi Indian
Friendship Society in association with the Indian Consulate in
Jeddah organized a Cultural Musical Evening at the Indian
International School, Jeddah Boys Section on 16th
June 2009 followed by a dinner reception.
The
programme started with the welcome speech by Consul General of
India, Mr. Sayeed Ahmed Baba. A cultural programme showcasing
the rich musical heritage of both countries was also organized.
Dr. Rashad Bin Mohd. Hashim Md. Husain, President of the Saudi
India Friendship Society and Director General of South Asian
Moassasa concluded the event by thanking all the participants
and members of the Forum.
The
programme was attended by a large number of Saudi citizens and
prominent Indian expatriates residing in the Western region of
Saudi Arabia. |

Composite Consular-cum-Community Welfare Tour to
Taif
on 11th June, 2009 by Indian

A Team from the Consulate General of India, Jeddah would be
visiting Taif on 11th June, 2009 (Thursday)
to provide consular services (limited to attestation and
passport services not being provided by the outsourced agencies)
to the Indian nationals.
from 0900 to 1300 hrs. and 1700 to 2000 hrs. at Hotel
Al Barraq (Telephone: 02-7360610).
The
Indian nationals residing in the area may, therefore, avail the
opportunity to apply for the consular service, to meet the
visiting officials and also to convey their
grievances/suggestions, if any, relating to labour and welfare
issues. They should bring along with them written statement
narrating their problems for redressal of their grievances,
including consular related services. |

Interaction with Indian Professionals held on 4th June, 2009 |

An interaction
with Indian professionals was held at Hotel Intercontinental,
Jeddah on 4th June 2009. Around 35 professionals
from different walks of life participated in the interaction
which was followed by dinner. Consul General of India, Mr.
Sayeed Ahmed Baba introduced all the professionals and outlined
the objectives of the interaction.
Dr. Muhammed N. Shoukany, Editor-in-Chief of Saudi
Gazette participated as the Chief Guest of the event and spoke
about the contribution of the Indian community to the growth of
Saudi Arabia. He also emphasized that interaction at all levels
is required between expat community living in Saudi Arabia and
the Saudi nationals. He requested the participants to come up
with ideas so that the relation between expat community living
in Saudi Arabia and the Saudi nationals can be strengthened.
Some of the participants gave their suggestions to Dr. Shoukany
on how Indo-Arab relations can be strengthened further. Mr.
Shams Ahsan, Managing Editor of the Saudi Gazette was also
present in the programme and gave his views on growing
importance of Indo-Saudi relations and the contribution of media
in strengthening this relationship. All the participants gave a
brief speech about their professions and their interests.
Consul General of India, Mr. Sayeed Ahmed Baba also presented a
‘Plaque of Honour’ to Dr. Shoukany in appreciation for his
contribution in the field of journalism.

A Team from the Consulate General of India, Jeddah would be
visiting Al-Baha on 21st May, 2009 (Thursday) to provide full
consular services to the Indian nationals. from 0900 to 1300 hrs. and 1700
to 2000 hrs. at Hotel Zulfan, Al-Baha (Telephone No: 07-7251053). This
visit in the aftermath of outsourcing of visa/passport services by this
Consulate, has been necessitated due to the fact that the outsourcing firms
are yet to establish their collection centres in Al-Baha to the full
satisfaction of Jeddah Consulate. The Indian nationals residing in the area
may, therefore, avail the opportunity to apply for any consular service, to
meet the visiting officials and also to convey their grievances/suggestions,
if any, relating to labour and welfare issues. They should bring along with

Consular-cum-Community
Interaction Visit to Yanbu

A high level team of Consulate’s Officers including
H.E. Mr. Sayeed Ahmed Baba, Consul General and Consul
(CW) would be visiting Yanbu on 23rd and
24th April, 2009. The purpose of this visit
will be to inspect and supervise the functioning of the offices of
outsourced agency at Yanbu. It is now a well-known fact
that the Consulate General of India has outsourced its Passport
services to three firms viz.
Al Fifa for General Services (

VFS GCC LLC (http://www.vfsglobal-n-sa.com/)

At the same time, consular services, limited to attestation of
documents and miscellaneous services on the Passports
will also be provided by the Team on Thursday i.e,
23rd April 2009 from 0900 to 1300 hrs. and 1700
to 2000 hrs. at Hotel Al-Higgi, Yanbu (Telephone: 04-3228842 and 04-3228831).
The Indian nationals residing in the area may avail the opportunity
to apply for any consular service, meet the officials and convey
their grievances/suggestions. Those expatriates, who wish to
meet H.E. Consul General for redressal of their grievances,
including consular related services, should bring along with them
written statement narrating their problems.

The Consul General along with the visiting team will have an
interaction meeting with the local Indian community at Middle
East Hotel, Meeting Hall, Yanbu on April 23, 2009 from
9 p.m. onwards to personally hear their welfare,
representations, suggestions, etc. All members of the Indian
community in Yanbu and the surrounding areas are requested to
make it convenient to attend the meeting.

surrounding areas are requested to make it convenient to attend the
meeting.
