General Procedure
Consulate grants visa for those foreign nationals, who intend to visit India for
Tourism, Business, Education, Conference, and other purposes in accordance with
well-defined rules and regulations of the Government of India. Visa application
forms are available at the Visa Section of the Consulate free of cost and
can be downloaded from the website. Passport valid for a minimum period of six
months should accompany visa application along with two recent passport size
colour photographs. In normal cases, Saudi nationals and foreigners holding
valid resident permit (Iqama) residing in Western Region within the jurisdiction
of Consulate General of India, Jeddah may get visa on the same day, however,
those who do not hold a valid resident permit, a reference has to be made to
their country of residence which will involve extra processing time and
additional form with fax fee of SR 100/-. Pakistani nationals are required to
submit Visa applications meant specifically for them (in quadruplicate) in
person and visas may take about 2-3 working days. The processing and grant of
visas to Sri Lankan nationals ordinarily takes about a week. Validity of all
visas is counted from the date of issue. The visa applications by post/mail are
not entertained. The Consulate reserves the right to
refuse any visa without assigning any reason whatsoever.

In addition to above, authorization letter from the business
establishments in Saudi Arabia and invitation letter from Indian business firm(s)
duly attested by Chamber of Commerce are required for obtaining Business Visa.
The invitation letter from Indian business firms should be addressed to
Consulate General of India, Jeddah (Fax No.02.653.3964) giving the detailed
particulars of the applicant viz. Name, Nationality, Passport Number, Purpose of
visit, Duration of stay, Places to be visited, etc. and a copy thereof to be
submitted alongwith Visa application.

Foreign nationals of the following countries
are required to submit Visa application along with a letter of introduction from
their Consulates.

STUDENT VISA
Requirements:-
1. Provisional
admission letter in original from the recognized educational institution
in India.
2.
A letter of financial support from
parent/guardian.
3.
Bank guarantee worth SR 7000/-
valid for the duration of the course.
4.
Two recent passport size colour
photographs.
5.
Photocopy of Passport and Iqama in
case of non-Saudis.
FEES
Visa fees for all types of visas have
been revised with effect from July 1, 2008. The fee varies with the
type/duration of visas and nationalities.
The Consulate reserves the right to
determine the type and duration of visas to be granted.
