1.
Check and ensure
that the Employment Contract has been attested by the Consulate
General in Jeddah. If not, check on the bonafide of the company
and the offer of employment with the Consulate.
2.
Do not pay money
to Indian Recruiting Agency/Company other than fees
prescribed by the government of India.
3.
Seek employment
only through registered and licensed recruiting agencies.
4.
Undertake thorough
medical check up in India before departing to ensure that you do
not suffer from any serious ailment.
5.
Check your visa
and make sure that you have valid employment visa and not a
visit or transit visa before departure.
6.
Check validity of
passports and ensure that it is valid for at least six months
after arrival in Jeddah.
7.
Always keep your
Iqama (ID card) in your possession when you are on the move in
Saudi Arabia.
8.
Strike is illegal
in Saudi Arabia and refusal to work attracts penal provisions.
9.
Poppy is
considered a drug under local laws in the Kingdom. Do not carry
poppy seeds as an item of domestic household/spice/medicine item
or for any other purpose. If
convicted, the punishment is harsh, with imprisonment.
10. Contact Vice Consul
(Community Welfare) or Consul (Community Welfare) in the
Consulate General of India, Jeddah in case of any problems.
11. Keep a copy of relevant
pages of your passport with you before handing over the passport
to your employer. A copy of passport may be kept with the family
in India. |
